Christmas Morning

Since we knew that Aaron wouldn’t be getting home until at least 7pm on Christmas Eve and Logan likes to go to bed around 7:30; we decided to go on our Christmas Eve hike a day early when Logan wouldn’t cranky and tired. It was relaxing really to get out in the mountains away from all the holiday rush and just be together as a family doing something we really enjoy. We “hiked” up to Bridal Veil Falls and ate our oranges. It was a little drizzly so we didn’t take the camera with us to document the event with pictures.

The next day Logan and I kicked off the Christmas Eve celebrations by going over to his “Aunt” Sara and “Uncle” Chris’s place for lunch! Aaron had to work so he really missed out on Sara’s amazing cooking skills. We had yummy soup and rolls. Logan and I relaxed that afternoon with a nap and got dinner ready for when Aaron got home. To Logan’s surprise Aaron got home early! We were able to do all the things we wanted to do and still get Logan to bed on time. After our Christmas Eve feast Aaron and I let Logan open one present before bed. He opened “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” which we promptly read to him. We followed that by one last bedtime story The Christmas Story from the book of Luke. Logan was put to bed and hopefully visions of sugar plums danced in his head.
Logan and Daddy: Christmas Eve
Christmas morning Logan decided to sleep IN of all mornings! He only slept in a half hour later but I was dying waiting for him to wake up. To get to the living room, Logan had to go through his very first trap the ever traditional “ice block in a tray” trap. This has never worked until now. Logan thought the ice-cubes were fun to push around in the tray and it trapped him for about 5 minutes.

Aaron and I finally got bored waiting and I helped him get past the trap to see what Santa brought him.
Logan wasn't sure what to do at first. After a quick present opening tutorial he got the hang of it.
Aaron didn't like how intensely packed the toys were. He obviously never had to open a Barbie doll box before!
Aaron got the start of his very own Frisbee golf set. Too bad the courses around town are too snowy for him to try out his gift. We will just have to wait until Spring!
Logan was very interested in anything anyone was opening at the moment and had to check it out before he moved on to the next item.
Yeah for Santa! So Logans stocking is actually Aaron's. When Aaron was born the hospital sent every baby born in December home wrapped in a stocking. This is the stocking that he came home from the hospital in. We let Logan borrow it this year.

Logans stocking was full of yummy things for him to eat!
Our greastest gift of 2010!
Aunt Sara and Uncle Chris came over that afternoon and brought Logan some presents. Chris showed the true Christmas spirit by giving Logan some UTE PJ's.

Playing hard with his new toys....I am talking about Logan but Aaron had just as much fun playing with Logan's toys if not more.

It was a great Christmas Day!
On Sunday Logan and I went North to Aaron’s Cousin Jordan’s homecoming. He served in Canada and we are so excited for him to be home. Aaron of course had to work and couldn’t come. After spending the day with Aaron’s family I headed to my parents for a few days. Aaron joined us later after work. Logan got to open MORE presents. He really likes his present from his Uncle Levi.
A boat for the tub complete with blocks for him to build things!
Aunt Nicole got a new sled for Chirstmas and was eager to try it out. Logan, Levi, and Nicole bundled up and went out to test the sled’s capabilities. However due to the sunny weather the sledding hill was out of commission BUMMER! So Nicole just pulled Logan around in the field instead. I wasn’t sure if he would enjoy it but he had a ball!

I am sad the season is over and can't wait until next year!
