Grandma's Birthday Bash

Happy Birthday Grandma
For my Mom’s birthday we took her on a trip to Yellowstone! Her wish was to see a Bear. After seeing 13 bears, I think her wish came true. On her birthday, she got yummy Pineapple Upside Down cake prepared in the Dutch oven and a puzzle of the Yellowstone falls-in addition to the trip itself. Here is the crew at some geysers by Yellowstone Lake

Logan got to go camping for the first time. He did great with one exception picture us in the bathroom trying to calm him down at 4am. He got cold and had a hard time going back to sleep. Buzz and Woody were our trusty wilderness explorers and navigators for the birthday bash.
Whenever we saw a squirrel we would point like Dug from the movie “UP” and yell “squirrel”. We got some funny looks from the other tourist.
Levi is such a smarty pants. He made this hammock out of rope and slept in it at night. Pretty Cool!
Sure is faithful!
Apparently the rangers have had some trouble with the bears. Norris Campground was close to tents because of a “gang” of teenage bears causing all sort of havoc. My parents and siblings went to Yellowstone a few days before us and saw 12 bears. Everyone told us we were bad luck when we got there because we only got to see one bear. I was still very excited to see my bear. He was digging around for food. We sat and watched him for about 5 minutes before people realized what we were looking at.

Boys will be boys (I think I married a tree hugger).

Yellowstone falls was so gorgeous and powerful. I hike the trail all the way down with a sleeping baby in my arms but I was so kind to let Aaron carry him back up the trail. We were going to stop at Inspiration Point but we wanted to get back to camp to get dinner ready before nightfall. Well as you will see further down the bison had other plans.

We got stopped for an HOUR AND HALF. I understand that the bison roam free and I have been stopped numerous times but never for that long! We decided to let Logan try his luck at getting the bison to move. He didn’t do so hot but hey he had fun behind the wheel. Finally the ranger started to herd the bison with his car. It still took a LOT of work to get the bison to move.

To top off the Birthday Bash we went on a bike ride through Teton National Park. Logan’s bike trailer didn’t get to come on the trip so my mom and I took turns driving the car/riding the bike.
